Ac yna adgyfododd
Yr Iesu adgyfododd

(Angeu ac adgyfodiad Crist - Rhan II)
Ac yna adgyfododd
  Yn ogoneddus iawn;
Daeth boreu teg a hyfryd,
  'Nol stormus, ddu brydnawn:
Y gadwyn fawr a dorodd
  Ar foreu'r trydydd dydd;
Fe goncrodd angeu'i hunan:
  O'r carchar daeth yn rhydd.

I fyny daeth o Edom,
  A'i wisg yn goch ei lliw;
Nis gall'sai un creadur
  Mewn cadwyn gadw Duw:
Fe dorodd rym yr angeu,
  Agorodd ddrysau'r bedd;
Palmantodd ffordd o'r ddaear
  Yn awr i ganol hedd.

Mae'r ffynnon yn agored;
  Dewch, edifeiriol rai;
Dewch chwithau, yr un funud,
  Sy'n methu edifarhau;
Dewch, gafodd galon newydd,
  Dewch chwithau na chadd un
I olchi pob budreddi
  Yn haeddiant Mab y dyn.

O! Iachawdwriaeth gadarn,
  O! Iachawdwriaeth glir;
Fu dyfais o'i chyffelyb
  Erioed ar fôr na dir:
Fe rodd ei fywyd drosom:
  Beth all ef ballu mwy?
Mae myrdd o drugareddau
  Difesur yn ei glwy'.

O! ras didrai, diderfyn,
  Tragwyddol ei barhâd;
Yn nghlwyfau'r Oen fu farw
  Yn unig mae iachâd;
Iachâd oddi wrth euogrwydd,
  Iachâd o ofnau'r bedd;
A chariad wedi ei wreiddio
  Ar sail tragwyddol hedd.

Yr Iesu adgyfododd
  Yn ogoneddus iawn;
Daeth boreu teg a hyfryd
  'Rol stormus ddu brydnawn;
Y gadwen fawr a dorodd,
  Ar wawr y trydydd dydd;
Gorchfygodd angeu 'i hunan -
  O'r carchar daeth yn rhydd.

Fe'i gwelir heddyw'n eistedd
  Ar Ei orseddfaingc fawr,
Yn Arglwydd ac yn Geidwad
  I weiniaid gwael y llawr;
Ei Hun mae'n llywodraethu
  Y dyfnder mawr a'r nef;
Terfynau eitha'r ddaear
  Sydd dan Ei ofal Ef!

Yr Iesu adgyfododd
  Yn ogoneddus iawn;
Daeth boreu teg a hyfryd
  'Rol 'stormus ddu brydnawn:
Y gadwyn fawr a dorodd,
  Ar wawr y trydydd dydd;
Gorchfygodd angeu'i hunan -
  O'r carchar daeth yn rhydd.

Er gwaetha'r maen a'r milwyr,
  Do, cododd Iesu'n fyw;
Daeth yn ei law alluog
  A phardwn dynolryw:
Gwnaeth etifeddion uffern
  Yn etifeddion nef;
Fy enaid byth na thawed
  A chanu iddo Ef.       [MR]

I fyny daeth o Edom,

Nis gall'sai un creadur
  Mewn cadwyn gadw'm Duw;
Fe dorodd rym yr angeu,
  Agorodd ddrysau'r bedd;
Palmantodd ffordd o'r ddaiar
  I ganol glwad yr hedd.

Mi welaf yn ei fywyd
  Y ffordd i'r nefoedd fry,
Ac yn ei angau'r taliad
  A roddwyd trosof fi;
Yn ei esgyniad gwelaf
  Drigfannau pur y nef
A'r wledd drag'wyddol berffaith,
  Gaf yno gydag Ef.

Mor ddedwydd fydd y boreu! -
  Pa bryd y gwawria'r dydd,
Pan ddelo caethion angeu
  O'i garchar oll yn rhydd -
Yn hardd ar ddelw Iesu,
  O gyrhaedd pob rhyw wae?
Cânt syllu ar ei wyneb,
  A'i weled fel y mae. [An.]

  Rhan I - O enw ardderchocaf
  Angylion do'ent yn gysson
  Er gwaetha'r maen a'r gwylwyr/milwyr
  Fy Nhad fy addfwyn Iesu
  Fyth fyth rhyfedd'i'r cariad
  Gwel ar y croesbren chwerw
  Mae'r ffynnon yn agored
  Mae'r fath feddyliau mawrion
  Mi welaf yn ei fywyd
  Ni fuasai gennyf obaith
  Tragwyddol glod i'r Cyfiawn
  Y corff a ro'ir i orwedd

(The death and resurrection of Christ - Part 2)
And them he rose again
  Very gloriously;
A fair and lovely morning came,
  After a stormy, black afternoon:
The great chain he broke
  On the morning of the third day;
He conquered death itself:
  From the prison he came free.

Up he came from Edom,
  With his garments red in colour;
No creature could
  In chains keep God:
He broke the force of death,
  He opened the doors of the grave;
He paved a way from the earth
  Now to the centre of peace.

The fount is open;
  Come, repentant ones;
Come ye, the same minute,
  Who are failing to repent;
Come, thou who didst get a new heart,
  Come ye also who got none
To wash all filth
  In the merit of the Son of man.

O firm salvation,
  O clear salvation;
What device of its kind was
  There ever on sea or land:
He gave his life for us:
  What can make him falter any more?
There are a myriad of immeasurable
  Mercies in his wound.

O grace unebbing, unending,
  Eternally enduring;
In the wounds of the Lamb who died
  Alone is there healing;
Healing from guilt,
  Healing from fears of the grave;
And love having originated
  On the basis of eternal peace.

Jesus rose again
  Very gloriously;
The fair and delightful morning came
  After a stormy, black afternoon;
The great chain he broke,
  At dawn on the third day;
He overcame death itself -
  From the prison he came free.

He is to be seen today seated
  On His great throne,
As Lord and as Saviour
  For the abject weak ones of the earth;
He Himself is governing
  The great depth and heaven;
The extreme boundaries of the earth
  Are under His care!

A fair and delightful morning came
  After a stormy, black afternoon:
The great chain he broke,
  At the dawn of the third day;
He overcame death itself -
  From the prison he came free.

Despite the stone and the soldiers,
  Yes, Jesus arose alive;
He brought in his hand power
  And pardon for humankind:
He made the heirs of hell
  Into the heirs of heaven;
May may soul never cease
  To sing unto Him.

Up he came from Edom,
  With his garments red in colour,
No creature could
  In a chain keep my God;
He broke the force of death,
  He opened the doors of the grave;
He pave a way from the earth
  To the centre of the land of peace.

I see in his life
  The way to heaven above,
And in his death the payment
  He gave for me;
In his ascension I see
  The pure residences of heaven
And the eternal, perfect feast,
  I will have there with Him.

How happy shall be the morning! -
  When will the day dawn,
When the captives of death come
  From their prison all free -
Beautiful in the image of Jesus,
  Out of the reach of any woe?
They shall get to gaze on his face,
  And see him as he is.
